ColorGradr Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 2026
ColorGradr Ltd (“ColorGradr”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use and protect personal data when you visit our website, purchase or use ColorGradr software, activate a licence, contact us for support or otherwise interact with us.
ColorGradr Ltd is the controller of personal data covered by this Privacy Notice except where another organisation, such as our ecommerce provider, acts as an independent controller for its own services.

ColorGradr Ltd
Company number: 12875581
Registered office: 66–68 Margaret Street, London, W1W 8SR, United Kingdom
Website: colorgradr.com
Email: support@colorgradr.com
2. Personal data we may collect
Depending on how you interact with ColorGradr, we may collect:
- your name and email address;
- company or organisation name where provided;
- information relating to products, licences and subscriptions you have purchased;
- licence keys, activation status and licence-entitlement information;
- communications you send to us, including technical and customer-support enquiries;
- technical information reasonably required to diagnose software or licensing problems;

We do not receive or store your full payment-card details when you purchase through our online store.
3. Purchases and FastSpring
Purchases made through our online store are processed by FastSpring, which acts as Merchant of Record for those transactions.
FastSpring collects and processes the information required to complete your purchase, including payment, billing and applicable tax information, in accordance with its own privacy notice and terms.
ColorGradr may receive information from FastSpring such as your name, email address, order details, product purchased, subscription status and transaction information where necessary to fulfil your order, provide your licence, manage your subscription and provide customer support.
FastSpring acts as the legal seller for transactions it processes. FastSpring Developer Docs
4. Software licensing and activation
ColorGradr uses third-party licensing technology, currently LimeLM / TurboActivate provided by wyDay, to issue, activate and manage software licences.
When ColorGradr is activated or its licence status is checked, information may be sent to the licensing service including:
- the software product and licence key;
- licence and activation status;
- installation or activation information;
- a hardware-derived identifier used to distinguish one computer from another; and
- information required to verify that the licence and activation data have not been altered.
The licensing system uses a generated value based on the computer’s hardware configuration rather than transmitting a description of the computer itself. wyDay
We use this information to provide the licence you purchased, enforce permitted activation limits, enable licence transfers, prevent misuse and provide licensing support.
5. How we use your personal data
We may use personal data to:
- provide and administer ColorGradr products and licences;
- fulfil purchases and subscriptions;
- activate and verify software licences;
- provide customer and technical support;
- communicate with you about your purchase, licence or account;

- maintain the security and reliability of our website and services;
- prevent fraud, misuse and unauthorised use of our software;

We do not sell your personal data.
6. Our lawful bases for processing
Under UK data-protection law, we rely on one or more of the following lawful bases depending on the circumstances:
Contract — where processing is necessary to provide software, licensing, support or other services you have requested.
Legitimate interests — where processing is reasonably necessary for operating and improving our business, providing customer support, securing our services, preventing fraud or protecting our intellectual property, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or process information to comply with applicable law.
Consent — where you have specifically agreed to processing, for example for certain marketing activities or non-essential cookies where consent is required.
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
7. Marketing communications
We may send you information about ColorGradr products, updates, upgrades or related services where permitted by applicable law.
You can stop receiving marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or by contacting support@colorgradr.com.
Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending service messages that are necessary for your purchase, subscription, licence or support request.
8. Cookies and website analytics
Cookies and analytics
Our website may use essential cookies required for website functionality and security.
We may also use analytics technologies to understand how visitors use the site.
Some pages contain embedded YouTube videos. YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies when these videos are loaded or played.
Where required by law, non-essential cookies and similar technologies are only used after you have provided consent.
9. Who we share personal data with
We may share personal data with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate ColorGradr, including providers of:
- ecommerce, payment and subscription management;
- software licensing and activation;
- website hosting and security;
- email and customer communications;
- analytics and technical infrastructure;
- accounting, legal and professional services.
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, regulation, court order or another lawful authority, or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Our service providers are only provided with information appropriate for the services they perform.
10. International transfers
Some of the organisations that provide services to ColorGradr may process personal data outside the United Kingdom.
Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we take reasonable steps to ensure that an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism is in place, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual safeguards.
FastSpring, for example, publishes arrangements governing cross-border transfers of personal information between the UK and other countries. FastSpring
11. How long we keep personal data
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
The appropriate retention period depends on the nature of the information and why we hold it.
For example:
- purchase and transaction records may be retained where required for legal, accounting or tax purposes;
- licence records may be retained for as long as necessary to administer and verify the licence;
- support communications may be retained where useful for providing continuing support, resolving disputes or maintaining business records;
- marketing information may be retained until you unsubscribe or we determine that it is no longer required;
- security and technical records may be retained for an appropriate period for security, troubleshooting and fraud-prevention purposes.
Where information is no longer required, we will delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it where reasonably practicable.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or misuse.
However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If you have a ColorGradr licence key or account credential, you should keep it confidential and should not publish it or provide it to unauthorised persons.
13. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights including the right to:

- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- ask us to delete personal data in certain circumstances;
- ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances;
- object to certain processing;
- request transfer of certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal exceptions.
To exercise your rights, contact support@colorgradr.com.
We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.
14. Complaints
If you have questions or concerns about how we use your personal data, please contact us first at:
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data-protection regulator.
Information about making a complaint is available from the ICO at ico.org.uk.
15. Children
ColorGradr products and services are intended primarily for professional and adult users.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us inappropriately, please contact support@colorgradr.com.
16. Third-party websites and services
Our website may contain links to websites or services operated by third parties.
Those organisations are responsible for their own privacy practices, and we recommend reviewing their privacy notices before providing personal information to them.
17. Changes to this Privacy Notice
We may update this Privacy Notice where our services, suppliers, business practices or legal obligations change.
The current version will always be published on the ColorGradr website and will show the date on which it was last updated.
